The town of Tonnerre, a centre of trading since the Roman times offers all comodities. A particularly pretty town, which has the Armancon river flowing through it in several channels. One of the few places along the canal where you will find vineyards. Epineuil with Pinot noir. Tonnerre et de Molosmes, white chardonnay. In the middle of town is the Fosse Dionne which is fed by a natural spring. This was the source of the towns drinking water, but later became used for clothes washing. From here you can climb to the 15C chapel that over looks the town. In the town centre is the Vieil Hopital founded in 1293 and the 12C Saint Pierre Church.
