The austere Langeais Château is unquestionably mediaeval, despite having been built in the fifteenth century, and is well worth a visit. As you cross the still working drawbndge, and wander around the fully-furnished rooms, you could be forgiven for thinking that you've taken a step back in time. On an interesting historical note, Charles VIII and Anne of Brittany celebrated their marriage in this very château.
